Activate midterm-skipping Dems in El Dorado Hills for the Nov 6 election! June 23rd, 2018

Over 112,000 voters who voted in the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections in CA-04 failed to vote in the 2014 midterm election. In Roseville alone, over 3,000 of them are Dems. And in 2008 we only needed 1,801 of those registered Democrats to vote to beat Tom McClintock. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen this year. We're executing a really well understood voter pledge strategy to keep that from happening. (The postcards in the photo are all voter pledges!)

Read more about our strategy here.

Please arrive and sign in at 10am.

  • If you have canvassed in our program before, pick up your walk packet, hear any updates, and go out. We can match you with a partner if you don't have one.
  • If you haven't attended our event before, we will train you in our program and we’ll match you with a partner if you don't have one.

10am- 2pm Go and knock on 25 doors (average)! Then come back and tell us about it!
After 2 pm (Optional, recommended) Please join us for light fare and the good company of your fellow canvassers.

Summers can get hot! If temperature is forecast for 100 degrees or higher, we will switch to writing postcards or postcard assembly packages. We won't do door-to-door canvassing if temperature is over 100.

When you RSVP with an email address, we send you an email with the location of our staging area for this event.

In the 4th Congressional District of California, there are 3,000 Democrats registered today who previously skipped voting in the midterms. Our project between now and Nov 6 is to knock on the doors of these "midterm skipping" voters and ask them to recommit to voting. We have a voter reactivation program that involves people signing a postcard, promising to vote, that we mail back to them before the November 2018 election.

Come out with us for a few short hours where you will knock on doors of 25 (average) registered Dems who skip midterms. These are great conversations with people who share your Democratic values; they just forgot to vote in 2014. Our previous canvassing work suggests that for every 2 registered Dems you speak to, 1 will say yes. It's a lot easier than registering new voters!

Getting them to commit to voting in 2018 is an easy ask, and previous canvassers talk about how it's a joy to ask for something so easy. We have a greater than 50% success rate when speaking to the voter to ask them to commit to voting in the midterms.
