Historical voter turnout stats for the midterms in CA-04/07

Just how historic was the voter turnout in our part of California? Volunteer Bill Stern pulled historical voting patterns showing there were more votes in this midterm for the Democrats in both CA-04 and CA-07 in all recorded midterm elections since the districts were created in the 1800's.

This is also the highest win margin of Rep. Dr. Ami Bera's (CA-07) career. In CA-04, as Sierra Forward has pointed out, the district swung bluer by over 15 percentage points. You can see the raw data and the links to the source files here on our Google Doc.

We won't see any data from our voter data vendor for at least another 3 weeks, I suspect, so an exact analysis of how the midterm skippers we targeted performed won't be available until at least the end of the year.

In the mean time, keep an eye out for our listening sessions being scheduled in Sacramento, Roseville, and San Francisco. Shabbir and any available site leaders will be attending to listen to your feedback about the activities you participated in, and what you're interested in working on next election cycle.
